Lights4Christmas

I decided to make a gift card holder using the latest stamp set from The {stamps} of life   called Lights4Christmas. Love the lights! I added some glitter rock candy to give the sparkle.  I also used a little trio tree stamp that came from an older stamp set called Joy2Christmas also from The {stamps} of life  to create a background on the card.

WOW I need to clean my room lol I've created quite a mess from these last few projects. But I enjoyed every minute.

Hope to share with you all again soon.

Stampin Up Oct

Well it's that time again. Club night is coming up later this week and our challenge comes from
The Paper Players what a fun challenge to work with.

Because it's Thanksgiving this weekend here in Canada I thought it would be great to go with the theme and make use of my newest stamp set from Stampin Up called truly grateful. I really enjoyed playing with it :)

 and here is the inside

Wishing all my Canadian viewers a wonderful Thanksgiving !

creative chemistry 102 day 5

I was up late last night working away. It is our Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and there is lots to prepare for.

Day 5 was all about embossing Effects :)
I managed to make 3 of the 6 techniques from this last day. I have to say that I had a ton of fun playing around with these tags

Here are the results of my late night playing :)

The first tag is rusting with distress powder, the second one which I LOVED is called the shabby chic technique, and the last tag is tarnished silver except mine is copper :)
If you have never taken an online class from Tim Holtz I would totally recommend his Creative Chemistry 101 and now 102 classes. You will have online access to them for life :)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

creative chemestry 102 day 4

I was able to sneak in a little time last night to create from class four.
It's all about alcohol inks! love these inks !

Here is my work
First one is the Ombre technique loved how it turned out. I will be doing this one again.
The second tag was faded layers. This was a really cool technique.
The last tag is the monoprint, again, I really enjoyed learning this technique.

There are 3 more techniques from this day that I was not able to do at this time. As soon as I am able I will post them here :)

Talk to you again soon :)

creative chemistry 102 day 3

I am planning to work on my day 3 class later this evening. That is the plan :)

I was able to spend some time last night playing with the tags for day number 3!

Day 3 is all about Distress. There sure are quite a few differnent ways to achieve this

Here are 3 ways that I have learned
the first 2 tags is a technique called smudge stamping, the next technique is called brayered stains what a neat effect for a background. The last one is distress  glitter rock candy I LOVE  working with this distress glitter.

There are 3 more techniques that were taught to us. I will post them at a later time.

Creative chemistry 102 day 2

I will post my work here from day 2 as soon as I able to work on it :)

Day 2 was all about stencils! love using my new stencils :)
Here is the results from my homework

The first tag is a mixed-media layering technique, the second tag was embossing with stencils and the last tag was embossing through stencils!
I had a ton of fun playing with the stencils this way and there are still 3 more ways to use them.
I will post those last 3 techniques soon.

Creative Chemistry 102 !! day 1

Yes, I decided to take another class from Tim Holtz :)
Creative Chemistry 102

The class started on Monday and I am only able to start working on it now!
I am already way behind. But then it seems that I am pretty good at that lol

I know that I will get all the assignments done it just may not happen as quickly as I would like. I know that I will give it a good go.

Here is my work from the first day of lessons. I really did enjoy playing around :)

The first day was all about distress paints

The first photo show the first four techniques.
first tag was a marbling technique, then we did the coloured crackle (love that rock candy), altered surface and then the dress form is the eroded metallic technique which I love, the photo just doesn't capture the true look of it.
here is a closeup of the frame and flower. Just love the  antiqued look :)
and the last two
are the stamping resist and the industrial technique hard to capture metal in a photo
and that is it for the first day of lessons.

Pant pant off to go work on the next class .... :)

Sept Stampin Up cards

Whew! I did it. My goal was to post the cards that we made in our stamp club before the next meeting!
Here are the 3 cards that we had made

I fell in love with the first card. Sponging with a framed background. It's one of those you have to see with the naked eye.
The colours are beautiful! and the technique we used involved using a mask.
The idea for this card came from Patty Bennet Patty's Stampin Spot Quick Card with a Wow Factor
this next card we were shown how to double emboss. I think it turned out great! a great technique to remember.
Idea case'd from Ann Clemmer How to make a textured background using the Big Shot
and now for the 3rd and last card Floating Butterflies.  I had always wondered how the butterflies stood up when the card was opened. Now I know! THANK YOU  Charlene!
Idea came from Mary's Tales Pop-up cards and Sponged Butterflies

What a great start to another year for our stamp club. Looking forward to learning more.

Have a great weekend!
