Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas tag 11

tag 11
melting plastic in Utee?!  that was fun lol
Stamping and inking on gloss paper was also a TON of fun! Thanks Mr. Tim :)

Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas tag 10

Tag 10 was a ton of fun learning
I feel like  I rubbed a little to much of the picture when it was immersed in the water. But still, it is a great technique and I know I will be doing this one again. I did not have the alpha set that Mr . Tim used. What I used were some grunge alphas that I had purchased a long time ago, painted them black then used the gold paint, turned out great!

Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas tag 9

and now here is tag 9! I LOVED  this technique! I will have to use this in the near future.

I had to show Peter the tag with just the background, his comment was that it looked like an old chesterfield! I giggled and replied thanks! mission accomplished lol

Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas tag 8

I am back to playing with the 12 tags
here is tag 8 !
This was a great one. Took a lot of time to make. I ended up cutting the little holly leaves. That was tough to do because of the size. The ticket was also created by me. I stamped a journaling stamp using fired brick distress ink onto an kraft colored piece of filefolder, then stamped the hand image , and finally using the corner chomper to give it the ticket corners.

Shabby Chic Tag Swap

I have thought about entering a swap before, but was never able to find one that I thought I would enjoy until now. Well I found one back in November so I signed up  thinking that I would have plenty of time to make six tags for mid Janurary.  Well I finished them today and they are now in the mail!!
The tag swap outline is to make 6 identical tags, use the colours white, blue & silver.  The style is shabby chic and the theme is winter wonderland! now fingers crossed that they arrive on time! I live in Canada and the package is going to the USA :)

Topiary Christmas Origami ball

I finished it before Christmas!!
To be honest I really did enjoy making this and yes it was alot of work tons and tons of folding but to me it is soooo worth it :) I am planning to hang it up in a central area so that I may admire it before having to put it away.
How many flowers do you think it took to make this gorgeous topiary Chirstmas ball?
P.S.  the papers I used came from here  December 25th collection

Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas Tag 7!!

WOW! I loved playing with this one!
the kraft glassine paper really is a differnt kind of material to play with. I had a ton of fun with it. I did not have all the alcohol colours that Mr. Tim had so the colours that I had used for the leaves were latte, ginger, lettuce, bottle and the gold mixative I think the colours worked really well together. I also did not have the distress stain colors for the tag so I just used my ink pads in the colours that he had used. The background images were stamped using the distress stain pumice stone. If you have any questions please do ask :)

12 tags of Christmas tag 6

whooo hooo tag 6!!
I will admit when I first saw Mr Tim's tag I wasn't thrilled but now that I tackled and did one myself I really loved the process and it does remind me of the old worn out tin boxes that were around when I was a little girl. This tag looks better in real time.
Have a great week!

12 tags of Christmas tag 5

and here is tag 5
the technique with this one was alot of fun. I did not have Mr. Tims reflections stamps but I still wanted to play with the alcohol ink along with the archival ink and see how that worked together. I used a very small "brick" stamp so it did take a few stampings which meant I had to watch how I lined up each stamping.  I think it worked great!
I am off to start on tag 6. I am determined to have them all done by the end of the month.
Have a great weekend!
PS
I get most of my supplies from this great online store scrapnwithflair

12 Tags of Christmas tag 4

tag 4 is done :)
I was finally able to go and pick up some picket fence distress stain and had a lot of fun playing with it!
The blue background looks really dark in the photo but it really is a lighter blue. The "25" was filled in with the glossy accents, something that I have never done before and it turned out great. Love that effect.
Have a great day!

12 Tags of Christmas tag 3

and here is tag #3
I really like how this one turned out ...
I didn't have the stamp or the embossing folder that Mr. Tim used. I used a stamp from INKADINKADO the set is called holiday words a really nice set of stamps.
The technique that I had learned here was stamping with Archival ink onto I used 2 dried babywipes doubled them up and then folded in half (instead of the felt that was used) then with my reinkers I outlined my image and words. I couldn't believe how well that worked as a stamp pad to stamp my image onto the tag!  I did place my inked up babywipes into a sealed bag and 3 days later went to use the stamp again and yes it worked just like an inkpad would AMAZING!!!!
The tag is kraft color which I cut it out from a recyled filefolder :)
The colors used and the stamped image gives me the feeling that it is from the 50's era
Have a great day!

12 tags of Christmas tag 2

finished tag #2
now this tag  isn't as sparkly as tag #1 but there was some learning.

I didn't have the sticky back canvas. What I did was I used grungepaper and coated it with Aleene's tacky glue then placed a piece of canvas that I had purchased from a fabric store about 2 yrs ago over the glue. Once dry then I made the diecut.
The brads were distressed with the same hammer that Mr. Tim used. I had purchased mine a long time ago and I do like using it every once in awhile.

12 Tags of Christmas tag 1

here is tag #1
Mr Tim mentioned that not everyone will have all the tools/supplies available. He suggested that we use what we have in our stash. That is what I have done :)

I found it strange to not have a snowflakes embossing folder so I used what I had on hand. I also did not have the new pinecone die so I improvised by using the tattered floral die to make my pinecones! I think they turned out pretty good. The word Peace was cut from grungeboard using my cricut, I also made my own bead not sure what to call them charms? baubles? I had fun making it.
One down eleven more to go lol
