on Strike!

My son had started a post secondary school on Aug 30 he managed to get in 4 days of classes before the teachers went on strike! What a bummer for him. So now he is back here in the city visiting which is nice but.... sigh. Hopefully the strike will not last long.

week 6 color Black

Okay, I am still trying to catch up I am supposed to do a black set, white set, front and back covers! I am running out of time! haha this is the last week for the class and I didn't finish my homework :( sigh. I am determined to finish my color book!
Here is an wonderful photo of "Spot" our dog. I am not sure why I was having a hard time putting this one together but I finally did it. I am happy with the final results :)

week 5 color purple

Sorry,I have been on vacation and did not keep up with the class or the blog. I just finished week 5 last night. I just had to take a photo of my little one eyed one horn flying purple people eater and he sings it for me also hahaha I love it! trying to use my scraps of paper that I seem to have so much of. I did learn a new technique. Punch holes and place a differnt colored paper behind to give a differnt effect. Simple! can you see that I did that on both pages?
Now have to work on blue :)

Week two of my color class

Week two we are doing 2 colors orange and yellow. I just finished them both today! I'm happy but I do wish that I could do these in less time that it takes me to do them. Enjoy :)

I have enrolled in an online class that is called "color! or is it Color?"

I am a little behind at the moment but that has been my life lately lol
I am going to post my color cards as I finish them. Once I have all my color cards finished I will put them together to form a 6x6 book. Here is the first one and a little background for the photo. This is Johnny washing his Odessey after a good ride out in the mud. The color is "RED" enjoy :)

They met!

Both my brother Michael and niece Amber met :) it was such a wonderful time. So glad that it went so well miss you both! and have to say that they both REALLY like the albums that I had made for them YEA!

mini album #2

I am finally finished the second mini album. I am giving this one to my niece Amber,my brother's daughter. I didn't know if I was going to have time to make one for her, but I somehow managed:) I don't know why it takes me days to make something but it does. I wanted the albums to match. The album holder was made the same way, the album the same size. So here come the photos!

These albums were alot of fun to make I am hoping to make more in the near future.

mini album and holder for my brother

My brother is coming for a visit to meet up with his daughter this July and I thought it would be fun to have a little mini album made up for him to place photos in.The album holder is made from a wooden box that I had purchased from the dollar store!the papers used are from the Tim Holtz idea-ology paper stack called Lost and Found, cardstock is the new Tim Holtz color core. I took photos of all the pages and tags enjoy :) Oh I didn't want to put to much embellishments on, the album needed to fit inside the case.

We made a card just like this in a su club that I go to. I loved the idea that it held a gift card so I had decided to make one using my own papers and embellishments.

We Had an amazing trip, my friend Leanne, owner of http//www.scrapnwithflair.com/ and I.
This was a trip that we had been excited about since Dec 2010. A trip to Memories Wholesale Inc. to view and order the products that are being released. We took classes to learn new techniques in using the new products :) We managed to meet and took TWO of the classes with my all time favorite designer Mr. Tim Holtz!! and was lucky enough to have a photo taken with him! Another class we took was Graphic 45 which was taught by the owner and desginer. She was wonderful! We also had the opportunity to play with copic markers, used the cinch binding tool,used the sew easy tool and it really is easy to use! played with the distressing tool from imaginesce in a quick make and take and learned more techniques from clearsnap. There is more to tell as soon as my brain slows down I will do another post. The trip had started on the eve of March 10 and arrived back home about 10:30 p.m. on March 13 What a lovely way to spend my birthday! lol
