Creative Chemistry 101 day 8 pt 1
Day 8 we are getting closer to the end :(
here is my homework from day 8
this first one is called Paint Dabber Resist Technique
I made 2 of the same Technique. The first tag was on paper and the second one done on sticky back canvas. I wanted to try this just to see the difference between paper and cloth. I liked both :)

Mom's 79th birthday card
It was my mothers 79th birthday today and I totally forgot to make a card! so I had to quickly make one for her just before running out to meet up with her for supper. Whew I can't believe I forgot! I guess I really am involved in doing my homework for the chemistry 101 class. But I am so enjoying it!
Just a note to say that the butterfly is one of the blending techniques from the chemistry 101 class, so glad that I had made extras.
Here is the birthday card
My mother gasped as she opened it :) which is a good sign! haha she loved it and so did my sister and her son who were also there to help celebrate her day :)

Creative Chemistry 101 day 6 pt 2
This third tag was a challenge for me because I did not have the "specialty" paper. I used 182 lb coated paper that has a rough matte finish. I was looking for something in my stash that was not watercolor or cardstock.
Here is my results using the Stamping with Markers Technique
Now I am off to do my homework for day 7 :)

Creative Chemistry 101 day 4
4th day of homework :)
I was able to finish 2 out of 3 tags. The third one is a bit trying for me so it is taking longer. I will post it as soon as I am finished. But for now here are the 2 that I did finish
the first one is a layered misting technique. I had used a flower stencil for my misting.
The second tag was the same technique that I had used on one of the Christmas tags. We were shown how to use the cut n' dry felt but I didn't have any so I used baby wipes the same way as before.
I really like how these turned out.

Creative Chemistry 101 day 3 part 2
here are the other two tags that I made to complete my homework for day three!
The first tag is the archival resist technique. "The only colors that I own are pink and black".
I then went over the tag using blue and brown distress ink.
The second tag is the stamping with reflections technique. I don't own a reflection stamp so I just used a stamp that I own . Because I wanted to learn the technique of stamping an embossing folder I figured why not use what I had :)
Both these techniques were new to me.

Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2012 March tag
I started to follow along with Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2012 here is my March tag
There was a cool technique that I learned from doing this tag. How to make the mosaic butterflies. I used grungepaper covered it with wonder tape and then made the die cut butterflies. After placing my pieces of paper I used black embossing powder to fill in the spaces. Once cooled I used glossy accents to cover each of the little pieces of paper. I loved this idea !!!

Stampin Up March club
What a great time we had this month and as usual Charlene sent out a link to us so that we could make a card and bring it to class.
And ummm I won again :) I get my free ink pad of my choice!!
THANK YOU CHARLENE!!! ( and Kim for picking my name hehehe)
here is the link to the sketch
and here is my take on the card sketch
these are the beautiful cards that we had made that day.
This first card is a quilted card we had a choice to emboss or not to emboss after adhering all the little squares. I chose to emboss. I love it!
here is card #2 this was also a fun one to make. Learned something cool.
This last card #3 was also a cool technique to learn. Using a flower punch to make the butterfly !
We were also shown the new stampin up insert to the score board. Needless to say we were shown how to make an envelope :)
Once I get the adtional links to the "how to's" I will update the post.
Until then happy scrappin'

CHA 2012
I am finally able to steal a few minutes to share some photos that were taken at CHA 2012. In this first photo is Mr Tim Holtz himself !!! I was sooo excited to have taken another workshop that was put on by Ranger which included 3 WONDERFUL desginers.
Tim Holtz was the first one to teach us
and his awesome assistant Mario was there to help throughout the morning (not sure why I had that weird look, I really was happy)
here is my project that Tim had taught us in the workshop. I just love how it turned out.
We were able to play with the new distress markers and water brush!! We learned about the new "clay like" paper, and how his new Sizzix eclips cartridges work. The butterflies had been cut out using his new line of eclips cartridges. I loved every minute of the workshop.
The next designer was Claudine Hellmuth unfortunately I was not able to have a photo taken with her this time but here is my take on the project that she had shared with us.
This bag was made from canvas and we used Claudines stamps and paints. Love it!!
Her line of paints are really nice to use. You can learn more about them here at Ranger
Her paints and brushes are awesome I have purchased mine at a local on line store here
The third and last desginer was this most amazing and talented lady Dyan Reaveley who came all the way from England to teach and show us her new products :)
and here is my finished project that she had taught us in the workshop.
Just a little something I will not forget - Dyan says "kitchen roll" we say paper towel :)
I love Dyan's style, she brought to us her new ink sprays, stencils, stamps and images. You can learn more about her products at the Ranger site
I do have a couple more photos to post but it is late so it will have to wait till later this weekend.
Have a great Friday everyone!
