May Stampin up card sketch challenge

Here we go... It's May and another sketch challenge that I managed to find the time to join in on the fun. The sketch comes from Freshly Made Sketches #229 and what a great sketch.

Here is my take on the sketch challenge

Hmm I guess I have been liking the black and white combo lately :)

I used the square framelit die from Stampin up and the stitched square die comes from Gina Marie Design.
The sentiment comes from a Stampin up stamp set called the Six-sided sampler. Loved how it fit perfectly in the square.
I have no idea where I got the butterfly lace trim but was glad I found it in my stash :)

April stamp club projects

Wow! what a wonderful evening it was. We made some awesome projects last month.
Links will be posted once I receive them :)

Here is project #1
Rose Wonder/Rose Gardern

Case'd with video from The Creativity Cave - Dena Rekow
This new rose thinlit die sure does make a beautiful card!

Project #2
Inlaid Pop-up Butterfly

This idea came from Michelle Mills
What a fun way to use washi tape!

Project #3
Butterfly Vellum View Card

I love vellum cardstock! and this card turned out stunning using vellum and a clever way to add a butterfly!
I took 3 photos of the card so you could see the front center and back.
Here is the link to where this was case'd from My Creative Corner

Thanks Charlene for sharing some great projects with us.

March stamp club card sketch challenge

Here we go, our card sketch challenge comes from Freshly Made Sketches 223

 My take on the sketch

I saw those two strips of paper laying in my scrap paper stash and I thought to myself that they would be perfect for my card. I had used the stamp set Tape It with the colours Coastal Cabana and Cameo Coral. I really wanted to stick with those two colours for the card.

Using Coastal Cabana ink and a stamp from the Gorgeous grunge stamp set, I stamped onto a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock to create my background.  I needed a flower so I grabbed my flowershop stamp set and stamped out my flower using Cameo Coral.

There you have it. I love these colours and really enjoyed working with this sketch.

Have a great evening

My mothers name plate

My mother had moved into an independent seniors home. Right away I wanted to make her a special name plate for her door. I was finally able to make one for her.

and here is a closer look

I really like how it turned out and was hoping she would like it as much as I do. Well to my surprise she teared right up when she looked at it. Her comments were so moving. She is afraid that someone will take it . So she brings it in every night and hangs it back out again every morning :) So sweet. When I went to hang it up  that is when we both realized how it matched the colour of her name that was on the door already. It wasn't planned!

And now a little info on how I made it. I picked up the wooden oval from the dollarstore. I removed the chain that was attached to it then painted it with white acrylic paint. I replaced the chain with the ribbon I knew that my mother would like it better with the ribbon. All the flowers were handmade by me. I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the doily background. The butterfly was a die from Stampin Up. I used my cricut to cut out the name Rose. I think that covers it. If there is anything else you would like to know, please feel free to ask :)

Now I am off to make my card challenge for thursday's club night

Talk to you all soon and take care

February stamp club sketch challenge 2016

Good Morning!

First I will start off with the link to the sketch challenge. It comes from Freshly Made Sketches # 221

Last month I finally ordered the woodgrain background stamp,  I have been wanting this stamp for awhile. Well I finally have it, and I really wanted to use it on this months sketch challenge. The ink I used was early espresso then stamped onto crumbcake cardstock. As you can see I cut the stamped image up to look like fence boards. I love how this card turned out.

I placed the fence boards a bit crooked just to help it give that "aged" look. It isn't showing up very good in the photo but I used the wink of stella on the word happy.

and here is the inside

Now I am ready for our stamp club  this thursday.

Have a great day!

January Stamp club 2016 what we made...

Hello my friends,

We made some wonderful cards at our stampclub in January that I would love to share with you.

Our first project was CASE'd from  Angela Lorenz Botanical sneak peek

I just LOVE this new stamp and die set, and of course the papers are gorgeous :)

Our second project was CASE'd from Flowerbug's Inkspot Party wishes fun fold card

Oh this was a fun one to make. I love gift card holder style cards and this is one I know that I will make again.

The idea for our third project came from Stamping to share Blomin' heart inlaid die cut

What a fancy heart die! very pretty. You can't see it very well but the white paper has some glimmer to it, very nice.

There you have it. All three projects from January. Thanks Charlene!!

Have a great long weekend everyone!

Stampin UP January 2016

I'm back! lol
Just getting ready to go to my next stamp club and wanted to quickly share the sketch challenge that was offered to us. This month the sketch comes from Stampin' Celebration SC109
here is my take on it
Here is a list of the items I used to make this card
Inks: are from Stampin Up : Sahara Sand, Coastal Cabana, and Calypso Coral
Stamp sets used are from Stampin Up: Gorgeous Grunge, Tape it, Secret garden stamp & die, and the leaf die from Flower Flair set.

I used a waterbrush and Calypso Coral to "paint" the flower. I then edged with the wink of stella.

I will be back soon to share what we made at our stamp club group. Until then take care and have a great weekend!

November Stamp Club

Here we go

As usual I will start off with the sketch challenge
Our sketch challenge comes from Freshly Made Sketches  sketch # 208
here is what I created
I used some craft foam and the Stampin up hello thinlit to cut the word out. I liked the texture that it gave the card.

As of today I don't have the links to link up to the projects so as soon as I get them I will share them with you

Here is our first,  project #1

Love this new ornament die from Stampin Up. And this embossing folder called falling snow is snow much fun :)

Project #2
Oh this card is just so lovely!!
Looks difficult to make but it really is quite easy and fun!

And our last, project #3
LOVE the look of this stand up card. I added a battery operated tealight to give the fire a warm glow.
Just gorgeous.

That is all and as I mentioned earlier, I will link up the projects so that credit will be given and the directions will be available on how to make these wonderful cards.

Have a great weekend!
